Weather is a great determinant of our skin. In summers and winters, our skin faces many changes. We have to alter our skincare according to the weather. What about living in a place where the weather is cold all the time. If you are moving to a cold country, you may need to know about the ways you need to take up to care for your skin. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar talks about skincare steps to be taken for living in cold countries.
Moisturizing your skin is important even in summers as well. In cold countries or even the winter season, there is much lower humidity and the skin is more prone to getting dry and flaky. Moisturize your skin daily so that it can withstand the extremities of the weather.
Do not use hot water on your skin. Some people may even develop winter itching. Instead of hot water, use lukewarm water so that it isn’t too harsh on your skin. Use a soap that is mild on your skin rather than using strongly scented soaps.
If it is too cold for you, do not step out. Too much cold can cause a number of skin problems that will get repaired by a medical professional and not by any cream.
Protect your skin from suntan. Tanning is another way that will corrode your skin. Not only skin darkening, tanning of skin results in early aging of the skin as well. Apply sunscreen before you step out in the sun.
In cold countries or cold weather, the cold wind blowing all around is not good for your skin. It can decrease the moisture in your skin and make it drier than before. You should try to cover your skin when you go out in cold weather. Wear a lip balm to save your skin from the bad weather as well. Never leave your skin out in the cold without any protective skincare product.
